Back and Musculoskeletal Injuries
Musculoskeletal injuries are a leading cause of workers’ compensation claims in the oil patch. They tend to be expensive and many times the employer feels like they are a victim, while the injured is concerned with the pain he/she is experiencing. So what can be done to prevent these injures and problems the employee and employee experiences?
This course is designed to assist general industry, construction, and health care clients in the development of back injury prevention programs. The focus will be on “best practices” in terms of real-world situations.
The topics to be covered will include:
- Identifying the most common risk factors for back injuries and musculoskeletal injuries
- Techniques for reducing employee exposures to common risk factors
- Lifting equipment examples for each type of industry
- Body mechanics that lead to musculoskeletal injures
